THE THREE ACTS OF GOODNESS AND LIFE EDUCATION
The Three Acts of Goodness programs are carried out using Fo Guang Shan’s education philosophy and pedagogy identified as life education. Conceptualized by Venerable Master Hsing Yun, life education focuses on the nature and relationship of human beings and the human world.
For Venerable Master Hsing Yun (2006), “the most important aspect of life education should be to teach students to respect life, to teach them how to live in such a way that they manifest dignity of life itself, and to teach them how to create value and significance within their own lives.”
The San Hao School Tour seeks to introduce the Three Acts of Goodness – do good deeds, speak good words, and think good thoughts to students nationwide. The program consists of an introductory lecture on the Three Acts of Goodness and workshops to highlight the application of the Three Acts of Goodness in our daily lives.
The program may be developed according to the needs of the students and may be implemented in a regular basis as supplementary activity of the school. Regularity will facilitate the holistic development and will further instill the Three Acts of Goodness in every student.
